Shawn DykstraCPA, CGA

Shawn joined Cameron Corporation in September 2006 as Controller and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2019. In 2026, he was further promoted to Chief Investment Officer, reflecting his expanded leadership role in capital strategy, investment oversight, and longterm financial planning. In these senior roles, he has led numerous management and accounting system conversions and upgrades, strengthening the organization’s financial infrastructure and supporting sustained growth.

Since joining Cameron, Shawn has been instrumental in securing over $1 billion in takeout and construction financing, leveraging his ability to build and maintain strong relationships with financial partners. His comprehensive understanding of the financial, operational, and risk components of Cameron’s projects has contributed significantly to the growth of the corporate balance sheet and the strategic allocation of capital for future development.

Shawn holds a Bachelor of Business degree, earned in 2003, and obtained his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2004 after working as a Senior Accountant with a private accounting firm. He later received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation following the unification of the accounting professions. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Shawn is actively involved in the community. His philanthropic contributions include work with the Edmonton Food Bank and the Edmonton Art Gallery, as well as serving as Treasurer for the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church.
